Before you run out to see The Black Dahlia....

...I thought I'd share a theory of mine about Elizabeth Short's killer. I think he was a serial killer hunted by the famous Eliot Ness the decade before in Cleveland known as the Kingsbury Run killer. I think after killing about a dozen people in Cleveland in the same way he killed Ms. Short, he went west and killed in Los Angeles. There are two OTHER victims related to Elizabeth Short about that same time in LA, one who looks almost EXACTLY like Ms. Short.

Tell ya what, check out this link to the Kingsbury Run murders and come back here and tell me what YOU think....

I see where you are going with this but I think the BD Killer was a woman hater (obviously), I don't think he killed men (unless of course it was necessary i.e. a witness or the like). Women were his forte.

Now that I posted I have been mulling it over some..I would love to see a picture of Dr. Sweeney's wife. If what you surmise is correct, and you never know.. I'd wager she looked a lot like Elizabeth Short. Didn't the crimelibrary article mention that the BD case was looked at when considering "like" similar cases? If so, wouldn't they have linked the two? I think this was Ness' waterloo and he would have pursued all leads, even after the murders stopped.

BTW, I saw the film and couldn't watch it to completion...too much for me. I imagine it will have a cult following.
